Springs Memorial Hospital Now Offers Wireless Access to Patients
Lancaster, SC - Staying linked and in the loop while in the hospital is now just a click away for patients at Springs Memorial Hospital. The hospital now offers complimentary wireless service in every patient room. Wireless technology is the latest offering in a generous line of services and amenities offered to enhance comfort and convenience for patients and their families during their hospital stay.
"Springs Memorial is committed to being a progressive, community-oriented organization," says Tom McDougal, Chief Executive Officer of Springs Memorial. "Great customer service begins with high quality medical care, but it also encompasses all the ‘extras’ we can offer to make sure our patients have a great experience here. This can be as simple as a listening ear or an extra blanket, or as progressive as the newest technology innovations that add to our patients’ comfort and convenience. Our goal is to be a full-service hospital for the community."
The new service was just introduced in the month of January, and is available in all patient rooms (which happen to be all private rooms), as well as other public areas of the facility. Wireless access is available in inpatient areas and reception areas on the 4th through 8th floors, the main lobby and the cafeteria. The guest wireless system accommodates any device capable of supporting 802.11b or 802.11g wireless networks. Hospital patients and visitors can access most available resources on the Internet, with the exception of file sharing or large file downloads.

"People want access to the wireless world, wherever they are. We want to provide Springs Memorial patients all the comforts of home.
