Patient and Guest Wireless Internet Access
In order to better meet the needs of our patients and visitors, this facility now offers guest wireless Internet access in many areas of the hospital.
Connection Instructions
The following instructions are provided to assist our guests with connecting to the wireless guest access network. These Instructions are very generic, and may not be exactly the same as what you see on your device. For instructions for your specific device, operating system, or wireless client, please refer to your user manual.
Step 1: With your laptop powered on, look for the wireless network indicator in your system tray.

Click on the “Wireless networks detected” message to open the “Choose a Wireless Network” dialog.
You should see the “Hospital Guest Wireless” network available. Click on the network to connect.

Step 2: Open a web browser, and connect to any valid Internet web site. At this point, a “Terms and Conditions” page will appear.
It is required that you agree to the terms and conditions of service. If you do not agree, you will be unable to connect to the Internet.
Step 3: Click on the “Accept terms and conditions” button. You are now connected to the Internet, and may browse the web or use other applications.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q: What type of laptop or wireless device do I need to access wireless guest Internet?
A: There are no specific requirements for device type. Any device capable of supporting 802.11b or 802.11g wireless networks should work on the guest wireless system.
Q: Who do I contact if I have trouble using the hospital guest wireless network?
A: Unfortunately, the hospital information systems staff cannot troubleshoot or support non-hospital devices. This service is offered “as-is” and there are no guarantees of performance or ability to connect to the wireless network.
Q: Where is the wireless network available in the hospital?
A: Wireless access is available on inpatient areas and reception areas on 4th through 8th floors as well as the Main Lobby on first floor and the Cafeteria on second floor.
Q: What can I access once connected?
A: You can access any available resources on the Internet. This system may block content deemed to be inappropriate to hospital standards. Some applications or protocols may not work on the wireless network. This system is not intended for file sharing or large file downloads.
Q: Can I plug my device into a wall jack?
A: No, you cannot access the hospital “wired” network. Only wireless access is available.
Q: Are “Public IP” addresses available?
A: No, this system does not provide public IP addresses for guest devices.
Q: Are loaner laptops available for patient or guest use?
A: No, we do not have laptops available for loan
