The Pediatric Hospitalist Program

Why isn’t my child’s pediatrician seeing my child while he/she is in the hospital?
Your pediatric hospitalist and your pediatrician have formed a partnership in order to better treat your childs medical needs and to improve their impatient and outpatient experience. Even though you may not see your private pediatrician while your child is in the hospital, he or she will work closely with the pediatric hospitalist to understand the care and needs of your child, as well as any other important past medical history.

How does treatment by the Pediatric Hospitalist benefit my child?
If your child is hospitalized, the illness is serious. Pediatric physicians only treat hospitalized pediatric patients. They are skilled in the latest inpatient diagnostics and treatments. Since the pediatric hospitalist is in the hospital during the day, they are available to respond to any changes in your child’s condition.
